Ballet Pensacola

Scholarships

Ballet Pensacola is proud to offer approximately $10,000 annually in financial assistance through the Dance Chance Scholarship Program. Created to offer access to dance training for students who demonstrate financial need or merit, these scholarships provide partial or full tuition assistance for students enrolled in the Training Division. Financial need is assessed using proof of enrollment in the National School Lunch Program. Merit is assessed by the artistic staff of Ballet Pensacola. Taken together, the merit and financial need evaluations are combined and determine the student’s overall assistance. Dance Chance assistance is given for one year, and students must reapply each year.

Ballet Pensacola’s merit scholarships were created to honor formative members of the organization. There are six named scholarships that are rotated each year. The artistic staff chooses the scholarship recipients at the beginning of each year. Merit scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit, potential, talent and overall attitude. The named scholarships are:

  • The Karen Olsen Memorial Scholarships
Named for her generous volunteer efforts to Ballet Pensacola
  • The Patsy Hill Scholarship
Named in honor of a former artistic director of Ballet Pensacola
  • The Debbie Parrish Scholarship
